Game Results- Saturday July 20

It's an exciting day on the blog...an anonymous guest blogger has written today's post!

The Herd went west to the City of Brandon for a weekend tilt with Team Sask.  Toba swept Day 1 in decisive fashion winning both games 15-1 and 13-4 in front of an estimated 105 fans at Steve Clark Field (OK, I counted, and the 3 dogs count as fans too!).

In the first game, Team Toba came out of the chute quickly and Team Sask could only watch as Toba showcased it's speed on the bags.  Interlake product Taylor Studler took a break from speeding round the bags choosing to hit a home run allowing her to enjoy a great day at the diamond with a jog around the bases.

Brook Seneshen was seen sporting a 100% UV protective tensor on her throwing arm that showed no ill effects as she retired a number of batters before exiting the game with all under control.  Jill Dickson relieved Brooke and very tidily wrapped up the game for the victory.

Game two saw Studler repeat at bat with another home run to cheers as she rounded the bases. Regan Lawrence went the distance in Game 2 and showed well keeping the bags clear of the opposition much of the day.  Deservedly, Taylor was awarded The Hat!

Another notable play saw Hailey Unger hit a home run, and the coaching on 1st and 3rd made for easy base running for the players.  I love (absolutely love) how Wayne is not shy with his voice letting the runners know exactly what to do!  Frankly, the entire team played solid at the plate and defensively.

The Team Toba fans seemed a little more active in Game 2, likely due to a binge on Saskatoons in between games.  Interesting, Team Toba playing Team Sask and eating "Saskatoons"....is there irony there, or just some form of Manitoba voodoo?  Anyway, it worked!

Games 3 & 4 will take place at Steve Clark Field at 11 am and 1 pm.
