College Update #10

Sorry I missed a week...it was a bit busy with announcing our roster and all...

Julianna Waldner- Columbia College Cougars (Columbia, MO)

The Cougars successfully won their AMC quarterfinal series last weekend against the Lyon College Scots and are now moving on to the AMC Championships in Henderson, TN starting on Thursday!  Well done to the team and especially Jules, who received an Academic All-Conference honour!

Maddie Hope- South Dakota State University (Brookings, SD)

Maddie had a great outing on Sunday in Fargo when the Jackrabbits faced NDSU, however her team couldn't get any offence going and they ultimately lost the game 1-0.  She threw six innings, only allowing two hits and four baserunners in the entire game (and the final nine batters were erased in order).  This weekend the Jackrabbits play in their final conference series of the season at home against Western Illinois.

Mary Martin- University of North Dakota (Grand Forks, ND)

The Fighting Hawks have been picking up steam and last weekend earned their 21st win- a program record for Division I softball!  Mary had a great Friday night at the plate, leading UND batters with two hits in five at-bats.  UND plays its last conference series of the season this weekend at home against Southern Utah.

Shaye Kemball- Mayville State University (Mayville, ND)

The Comets wrapped up their regular season last weekend and finished with an overall record of 20-24, 14-14 in conference. This weekend is the NSAA Tournament starting on Friday, May 5th in Dickinson, ND.  The format is double knock-out, with the winner earning an automatic berth into the NAIA national tournament.  Good luck to Shaye and the Comets!

Zoe Hicks- Iowa Western Community College (Council Bluffs, IA)

Zoe is currently playing in the NJCAA Region XI tournament where the Reivers are 1-1.  As I am typing this post the Reivers are on the verge of winning their third game and if they can hang on they will move on to play tomorrow.  Good luck Zoe!
