The Cougars had an outstanding weekend at the Gulf Shores Invitational tournament in Alabama over the weekend, winning the gold bracket of the entire 40 team tournament! The tournament featured some of the top NAIA teams, highlighting what a huge accomplishment it was. Julianna seems to be finding her groove, picking up some hits and more playing time over the weekend. Next up for the Cougars is their home opener this weekend in Columbia with a pair of games.
Thanks to columbiacougars.com for the pic...our gal Julianna is front row fourth from the right! |
Maddie Hope- South Dakota State University (Brookings, SD)
Well there's nothing like a week off to play some games in Florida before your tournament on the weekend...what an amazing week! The Jackrabbits are down in Clearwater, Florida for six neutral site games this week ahead of tournament play this weekend coming up.
Mary Martin- University of North Dakota (Grand Forks, ND)
The Fighting Hawks had a weekend of mixed results this weekend in South Carolina, however a highlight was definitely their pitcher throwing a no-hitter against UConn on Sunday! Mary also picked up some more game time and more at bats this weekend, with a timely hit in their first game of the tournament to spoil Coastal Carolina's no-hitter in the third inning. Next up is a trip to LA this weekend for the Loyola Marymount tournament.
Here are some great pics that Mary's parents sent along from previous weekends of play at Auburn and Florida!
Zoe Hicks- Iowa Western Community College (Council Bluffs, IA)
Zoe had a great offensive weekend at a tournament in Kansas- overall she had 6 hits, a double and a home run. Great job! Next up are league games in Missouri this weekend against State Fair Community College.
Brigitte Gauvin- University of the Incarnate Word (San Antonio, TX)
Unfortunately the Cardinals are continuing to struggle, however they have a game this week against Texas State as well as their home tournament this weekend- hopefully they can rack up some wins in front of their home supporters!
