2015 Manitoba Aboriginal Coaching Award Winner- Coach Niki!

Team Toba Softball is very excited to announce that our own Coach Niki was honoured this past weekend at Coaching Manitoba's annual IMPACT Awards for her work with the sport of softball! Coach Niki was the winner of the 2015 Manitoba Aboriginal Coaching Award- here's the press release from the Manitoba Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Council:

"Niki was a member of the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games coaching staff for Softball. As a member of the 2015 Team Toba staff, Niki continued to make great contributions to her sport. She relied on her past, as a High Performance player herself, to lead Manitoba’s Female contingent. In 2015 she has worked with Softball MB’s elite athletes also and introduced the game to many children at Winnipeg schools. As a Softball MB Clinician, she traveled to remote First Nation communities to teach and coach Aboriginal youth through Softball development camps. Niki has aspirations of coaching Softball at the 2017 Canada Summer Games and then the 2019 Western Canada Games. She is described as a quiet, leader by example coach, who is an excellent role model for our young Female athletes."

Coach Niki was also a finalist for the IMPACT Female Coach of the Year which was a huge honor and testament to the impact she has with not only Team Toba softball athletes, but also aboriginal athletes here in Winnipeg and all over the province. Congratulations Coach Niki!!!
