If you haven't already heard, our very own Master Blogger, Manager, In house Athletic Therapist, On-call umpire etc etc etc - Valerie Pelleck won Softball Canada's Volunteer of the year at the Annual AGM and awards ceremony earlier in the month.
We are super proud of you Val and obviously there are soooo many things that wouldn't get done if you didn't do them (ahem...the blog for one!)
This is the quick write up from the Softball Canada website
The Rose Hodgson Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Valerie Pelleck from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Pelleck has excelled in many of Softball Manitoba’s Competition and Development programs over the years, most notably with the Canada Games team and has been Manitoba’s provincial team manager since 2012. She has experience as mission staff and medical liaison at multi-sport events, having volunteered at the Canada Winter Games and the Western Canada Games, and served as medical liaison at this summer’s Pan American Games in Toronto. She is also a Level IV umpire who worked at the U21 Women’s Canadian Championship in Charlottetown, PEI this summer.
Lynda Turton (Softball Canada Board Member and the sweetest lady ever!) presented Val with her award
It was incredible night for Manitobans as David Muswaggon won the Home Run Sports Coach of the Year, and the Hall of Fame inductees included Roy and Evelyne Holenski as Builders, Sandy Newsham as an athlete, and the Smitty's Midget Team(1994-1996) and Senior Team (1993-1997).
Congratulations!
Atta Girl Rosie!!!!!
