We'll Miss You, Ted!

Last week we found out that this past WCSG would be the last for our long standing leader, Ted Bigelow.  Ted has been a huge supporter of everything Team Toba since his first Games at Chef de Mission in 1987.  His experience at numerous games since then has proved to be invaluable when preparing for every Games to come after those first ones, and Team Toba as a whole has had more successes than then can count thanks to Ted.

I can remember the first meeting Coach Haylee and I had with Ted way back around 2011 when we first started getting things organized with Toba Softball ahead of the 2013 Canada Summer Games.  We weren't too sure about how everything worked, but we knew what our goal was.  Ted was ok with that and helped us make it happen over the next couple of years.  I don't think our Toba Softball athletes really know much about the impact that Ted had with either of our teams, beyond providing them with a few crazy cheers and an insane amount of energy.  But looking back on it now, we couldn't have done it without you, Ted, and we promise to bring out the best "Woo Woo" that we can manage with every Toba Softball team going forward!

Team Toba Softball wishes Ted Bigelow all the best in whatever life brings him next, we are so grateful for everything you have done for our teams and all of Team Toba!

Check out the article that ran in the Winnipeg Free Press last week about Ted HERE.

  1. Thanks Ted. I have been part of 14 Team Toba Softball Programs and you have always been there as one of our strongest supporters. Thank You for the Guidance and Leadership. Toba may not always finish first Biggs - but - You'll always be Gold!
    Nice Work!
