Alumni Update
Brigitte Gauvin - Brigitte is playing NJCAA Div. 1 softball at San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas. This year has been a little challenging as we lost a few players in January. The team is starting to play well now. They are well on their way to another 40+ win season. Since the end of January they have played 37 games and their record is 23-14 and their conference record is 6-0. Brig has played in all 37 games usually catching the first game of the double header and being DH in the second game. Regionals are in Lufkin, Texas from April 30th to May 3rd . The top 4 teams from 2 different conferences move on the Regionals. In April Brig will be signing an NLI with the NCAA Div.1 University of The Incarnate Word Cardinals in San Antonio,Texas. It will be nice to see her back in Black. Red & White uniforms again!
Brittany Hince Siwicki - Brittany is in her third year with the UBC Thunderbirds. Brittany has always been a versatile player but this year marks her debut behind the plate! She made her first “ever” appearance as catcher in mid-March when the Thunderbirds attended a tournament in Tuczon Arizona, she found it to be a good experience. Brittany finds herself with 3 homeruns on the season thus far playing both 3rd base and right field. They have a few games left as part of their regular schedule and then are expected to head to Regionals. Brittany continues to excel in her academic studies while juggling the hectic schedules of being a varsity athlete and continues to give back by being part of UBC volunteer programs in the area of student mentoring. We’re proud of her efforts both on and off the field! Go Thunderbirds!

Brooke Seneshen - Brooke is in her sophomore year at Division 1 Baylor University. Brooke is doing exceptionally well in her first year as a Bear posting a 2.31 ERA, with an opponent BA of .191, no losses, 2 saves and 4 wins. Baylor currently has 21 wins and 6 losses and is ranked no. 16 in the nation for Div 1 Softball. Baylor is coming off a win over Houston last week and will play North Texas this week.
Courtney Kwasnitza - Courtney began her Senior season at the “Rebel Spring Games” tournament March 9-13 in Orlando and Winter Haven, Florida. The Illinois College Lady Blues finished the week with a 4-5 record. Beautiful temperatures in the mid-80’s (F) resulted in excellent softball conditions. Courtney caught all 9 games and had 29 at-bats in her familiar lead-off spot. Her offensive highlight was going 2-for-4 and driving in the only run in an exciting 1-0 victory over highly-ranked Coe College. As 2015 team captain, Courtney displayed veteran leadership and had a strong defensive presence behind the plate. Illinois College hosts Illinois Wesleyan University for their home opening double-header on March 24, followed by two games at Westminster College (Missouri) on March 25 and a double-header at Lake Forest College (Illinois) on March 28.
Crash aka Makensy Payne - Change is significant for the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Bulldogs softball team with an entirely new coaching staff and, a revamped roster. One of the few seniors, Crash has adapted too, coming to the plate as a slap hitter and playing the outfield in left and centre. What has not changed is the team’s record: 4 wins and 18 losses at this point, but Crash is doing what she can: her batting average is currently second on the team at 435, her on base percentage is 480, and her fielding percentage is 1000. In addition, on a team that does not steal much, Crash has 3 steals in 3 attempts.
Danielle Klassen - This is Dani’s second year at Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) in Mitchell, SD. and her final year of softball eligibility. She is hoping to continue where she left off last year. Dani set school records last year for runs scored 36, bases stolen 27, stolen base attempts percent, 27 of 29 for .931% and named to GPAC first team all-star. Like last year Dani is the starting center fielder and lead off batter. Thanks to Team Toba coaches who got Dani batting left she now bats from either side of the plate and switches back and forth as the game goes on. This keeps the opposition’s defense guessing as they try to figure out what she is going to do and has paid off for her as her batting average continues to climb. With eight stolen bases so far this year Dani is 10 shy of setting a new school record during a career at DWU. If she does set a new record she will have done it in 2 years. The current record holder took 4 years. DWU Tigers were in Tucson, AZ. from March 7th to 12th. The team went 4 and 8 but more important helped them get ready for their main season. With the regular season about to
start for DWU the Canadian girls will be a big part of the lineup. Hailey Unger catching, Lorissa Loeppky pitching and Dani in center field. It should be an exciting year for The Tigers as they try to match last year’s success.
Hailey Unger - Hailey is in her Junior Year at Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU). Currently Hailey holds the teams top batting average at .313. She has 4 HRs and 14 RBIs.

Regan Lawrence - Regan's Dickinson State Bluehawksare 14-2 so far this season. Regan has a Conference leading best ERA of 2.02 with a 6 win and 2 loss record. She has 46 strikeouts and 10 walks in 52 innings pitched and is batting .292 with 14 RBI and 11 runs scored.
