The National Team Experience: Brooke's Log #3

Day three of the World Cup tournament and things are moving smoothly. Canada is sitting at 4-0 winning against Japan, Tai Pei, Philippines and Venezuela!  Our first game against Japan was so exciting - the energy on the field was amazing. Competing at this level is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. It is also the weirdest and coolest thing when kids are asking you for your autograph at the end of each game.  It really puts into perspective how playing for team Canada is about more than just ourselves. I never would have thought I’d be signing my “autograph” anywhere, and it clearly shows on some of the things I’ve been asked to sign! Haha.

Pitching in my first national team game was so many things, from thrilling to nerve racking to scary and fun all at the same time. The way just putting on the jersey makes you feel is something else. I am very proud to say I am one of the few who has to chance to do the thing that scares and excites me the most.
