Support Staff Profile: Adam Decker

What do you do for a living?
Sport Performance Manager at Sport Manitoba. I oversee the physiology and strength and conditioning for Team Manitoba Canada Games athletes and manage the Performance Centre in Sport Manitoba.

What position did you play as a player?
I grew up playing mainly hockey (defence) and soccer (forward), but basically played every sport at one point or another.

Besides watching Team Toba destroy the competition at the Canada Games, what are you most excited for while in Sherbrooke this summer?
The atmosphere of a multi-sport Games.

What is your favorite quote?
The only disability in life is a negative attitude.

Where did you attend college or university?  What did you study?
I have degrees in Kinesiology and Education from the University of Manitoba and a Master’s degree in Exercise Science from California University of PA. I am looking forward to starting my PHD next year at the U of M.

What is your favorite tv show?
Breaking Bad

What's the most amazing place that you've travelled to?
Tie between Switzerland and Italy.

What do you like to do on your spare time?
When I have spare time, I like to watch movies and spend time with family and friends.

Team Toba would like to send out a HUGE thank-you to Adam and his team at the Sport for Life Centre for all of their hard work in preparing the girls for the Canada Games.  Adam, Neil, Lindsay and Brent have been there overseeing the girls' workouts and creating new programs for over six months, and a huge part of our success on the field comes from their dedication to our training!
