College Update #1

Julianna Waldner- Columbia College (Columbia, MO)

This past weekend the Columbia College Cougars split a double header in St. Louis, moving them to 5-2 on the year.  So far Julianna is fourth in team batting with a batting average of 0.375. Next up is tournament play at the Gulf Coast Invitational in Alabama this weekend.

Maddie Hope- South Dakota State University (Brookings, SD)

The SDSU Jackrabbits had a mixed weekend at their tournament in Florida, finishing with a record of 2-3.  In their fifth game of the tournament, Maddie shut down the Kansas Jayhawks for the final three innings, earning her second save of the year.  Next up for the Jackrabbits is the Cardinal Classic in Beaumont, Texas this weekend.

Mary Martin- University of North Dakota (Grand Forks, ND)

The Fighting Hawks also had a mixed weekend at their tournament in Florida, finishing up 2-3 just like the Jackrabbits.  UND travels to Auburn, Alabama on Thursday to take on the Tigers, last year's Women's College World Series runners-up.  They will then take part in the Tiger Invitational for the weekend.

Shaye Kemball- Mayville State University (Mayville, ND)

The Comets had a tough opening weekend, but Shaye did well in her first-ever college appearances, striking out 13 in just over 13 innings across three different games.  Next up for the team are a pair of games in Aberdeen, SD this weekend.

Zoe Hicks- Iowa Western Community College (Council Bluffs, IA)

Zoe had quite a bit of game action this weekend in Iowa, with 3 singles and 4 RBI in two wins for the Reivers.  Next up is another doubleheader today at home in Iowa.

Brigitte Gauvin- University of the Incarnate Word (San Antonio, TX)

The Cardinals had a tough weekend at the Rawlings tournament in Houston, but will be looking to pick up a few more wins this coming weekend at the UTSA tournament at home in San Antonio.

Tamara McVannel- University of Regina

Unfortunately the Cougars lost a pair of one goal games against U of S on the weekend, eliminating them from the Canada West playoffs.  Tamara did contribute with a goal in Game #1 of the series though!  We look forward to Tamara re-joining Team Toba in the spring after final exams!
