Did you know that it's National Coaches Week in Canada? Here's an exciting coaching announcement!
At each Canada Games there are a special group of coaches who are added to their teams' rosters as apprentice coaches. These coaches are given an opportunity to train with their mentor coaches as well as to further build expertise in their sport. At the 2013 Canada Games, our very own Coach Niki was an Aboriginal Apprentice Coach!
At next Summer's Canada Games Team Toba Softball will have TWO apprentice coaches helping out with their teams! Harley Garrioch is an Aboriginal Apprentice Coach with the men's softball team and Tara Nykoluk is a Women in Sport Apprentice Coach with the women's softball team! There are only 31 apprentice coaches at the games between all of the provinces, so it's pretty awesome that Team Toba softball has two of them! Click HERE for the official news release and a list of all apprentice coaches and their provinces.
Don't forget to thank your coach this week for all that they do for you in your sport! #ThanksCoach
