Qualico Training Centre Groundbreaking Ceremony!

Check out what happened yesterday at the Sport for Life Centre!  The official groundbreaking ceremony finally took place for the new Qualico Training Centre in what used to be the parking lot (sniff, sniff, we'll miss you convenient parking!) on Pacific Ave.  Team Toba Softball catcher Mary Martin represented ALL athletes who will be using the centre for training in the coming years, and gave an awesome speech about what the new facility will mean for her and all athletes in Manitoba.  AND it was in both English and French.  Amazing.  Look at her up on that stage with all of those important people in her Team Toba Softball jacket!!!  We are extremely excited that one of our softball athletes was invited to play a major role in this event and even though we're sad about the loss of parking, we can't wait for the new centre to be built!  It will definitely play a huge role in training future champions not only in softball, but in all sports in Manitoba.

To help with the ceremony, students from David Livingstone School represented the sports that will use the facility.  And there were no shovels to break ground...instead the participants used sports equipment like softball gloves!
