#RuleTheDiamond #1

During our 2013 Team Toba blog we ran a wildly popular segment called "Know the Rules" (well...maybe using the term "wildly popular" is a bit of an exaggeration).  I think it's time we pick up where we left off with some questions about the rules in the game of softball that you may not know or need a refresher on, and to reflect the changing times we will give it a title with a pound sign hashtag in the name- #RuleTheDiamond.  We're going to do it in a quiz format this time, with the question being presented and then an answer and explanation being given with the subsequent question.

Ready?  Here are your first questions relating to regulation bats:

According to the Softball Canada Official Rule Book, what is the maximum length of a regulation fast pitch bat?

a) 33 inches
b) 34 inches
c) 35 inches
d) there is no rule for maximum length

According to the Softball Canada Official Rule Book, what is the maximum diameter of a regulation fast pitch bat?

a) 2 inches
b) 2 1/4 inches
c) 3 inches
d) 4 inches

According to the Softball Canada Official Rule Book, what is the maximum weight of a regulation fast pitch bat?

a) 34 ounces
b) 35 ounces
c) 38 ounces

Get your thinking caps helmets on!  Answers will be posted on our next #RuleTheDiamond post.
