WELCOME!

Welcome to the Official Team Toba Softball Blog!  It is our hope that this blog will provide you the opportunity to follow the training, progress and performance of the 2013 Team Toba top 30 as well as share in the final team's Canada Games Experience.  It will also function as a pin board for all sorts of resources related to softball that may include coach and athlete tips, sport's psychology, technical analysis and drills, nutrition, rehabilitation, player bio's and interviews - pretty much anything and everything softball related.

The 2013 Canada Games are being hosted by Sherbooke, QC.  Interestingly enough, it was February 1967 in Quebec City that the history of the Canada Games began. With its motto “Unity through Sport,” the first Canada Winter Games paved the way for what is now the largest multi-sport competition for young Canadian athletes. Beyond being a unique sporting event, the Games promote healthy living among young people and leave behind an important infrastructure, sport, and social legacy for the host region.

Since 1967, the Canada Games have played a central role in the promotion of sport and physical activity in our provinces and territories. Presented every two years (alternating between Winter and Summer Games), in a different province or territory, the Games have united, since their start, more than 100 000 athletes.

In Sherbrooke in 2013, 4200 athletes will come to compete for honours in 20 disciplines on 20 different venues. During the 16 days of competition, pleasure, perseverance, team spirit, sweat, surpassing limits, entertainment, and success will all be on the menu. This is a great recipe for a spectacular event! Only 335 days till the Opening Ceremonies! For more info check out the link.
